2007 Reserve Syrah
The 2007 Reserve Syrah is the inaugural release of this label by Bridge Pa Vineyard New Zealand's only wine producer 100% devoted to Syrah. 2007 in Hawke's Bay was a superb vintage, fruit for this wine was grown on own rooted vines in the Taupo Pumice Sands of the Ngatarawa Road Vineyard. The Reserve Syrah 2007 displays the classic Bridge Pa Vineyard aromas of violet and lifted black fruits. The Rhone style palate is supple and intense featuring berries, black cracked pepper, tobacco and an earthy undertone. Barrel aging for 18 months in new and seasoned Amercian oak barriques has contributed to a beautifully balanced and elegantly structured wine that will continue to develop in the bottle long after its release.Judging Panel International Wine Challenge 2009, U.K
95/100 "Ripe perfumed nose with rich, savoury fruit reminiscent of Hermitage. Complex, restrained fruit with perfect balance, great purity and ripeness. Very long and lingering."
